How ITLedger uses necessary and optional cookies.

Cookie policy

Last updated: 14 July 2026

This is an English translation of the Dutch Cookiebeleid. If the two versions differ, the Dutch version prevails.

This cookie policy explains how Brainforge B.V. ("Brainforge", "we" or "us") uses cookies and similar browser technologies on the ITLedger website and in the ITLedger application (together the "Service"). Read this policy together with our Privacy policy.

1. What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They can make a website work and stay secure, remember choices and provide information about how the website is used.

We may also use similar technologies, such as local storage and session storage. These store information in your browser and serve a similar purpose. In this policy we also use the word "cookies" for these technologies, unless the distinction matters.

2. Our principles

  • Necessary storage is only used to make the Service work, secure it or remember settings.
  • Optional analytics is disabled by default and is only activated after you give consent.
  • Refusing analytics does not prevent you from using the core of the Service.
  • We do not use advertising cookies and do not enable ad personalisation.

3. Necessary cookies and storage

Necessary technologies support functions such as:

  • authentication and session management;
  • security and the prevention of fraud and abuse;
  • load balancing and reliable delivery of the Service;
  • remembering language, display and interface preferences;
  • storing your cookie choice; and
  • keeping temporary application state needed for a function you are using.

These technologies can be session-based and expire when you close the browser, or persistent and kept until they expire or you delete them. Because they are needed for a function or service you requested, they do not depend on consent for analytics.

If you block necessary cookies or browser storage, parts of ITLedger may not work properly.

4. Analytics cookies

With your consent we use Google Analytics 4 to understand, at a high level, how visitors find and use the Service. This can include information such as pages visited, approximate location, browser and device type, referring source and interactions with website features.

Google Analytics may set cookies such as _ga and _ga_<measurement-id> to distinguish visits and sessions from each other. The exact names and lifetimes may change when Google changes its service or we change our configuration.

ITLedger's analytics implementation:

  • keeps analytics storage denied until you choose Accept All;
  • does not load the Google Analytics script before you give consent for analytics;
  • keeps consent for ad storage, ad user data and ad personalisation denied; and
  • stores your analytics choice in your browser, so the banner does not appear on every visit.

If you choose Necessary Only or Reject All, optional analytics remains disabled.

5. First-party and third-party technologies

First-party cookies and storage are set directly by ITLedger. Third-party cookies may be set by a provider whose service we use.

Google is our provider for optional analytics. If analytics is enabled, Google may process analytics data under its own terms and privacy information. Other infrastructure or authentication providers may use strictly necessary technologies to deliver the Service, secure it or authenticate users.

6. Managing your choice

When the cookie banner appears, you can:

  • choose Accept All to allow optional analytics;
  • choose Necessary Only to use only necessary technologies; or
  • choose Reject All to refuse optional analytics.

You can withdraw consent for analytics by clearing the site data for itledger.eu in your browser and choosing another option when the banner appears again. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. The controls differ per browser; see your browser's help information for instructions.

Deleting or blocking cookies may sign you out, reset saved preferences and make parts of the Service unavailable.

7. Retention periods

The lifetime of cookies and browser storage depends on their purpose. Session data normally expires when the session ends. Preferences and consent choices may be kept until they expire, are replaced or are deleted through the browser settings. Analytics data is kept, according to the analytics service's settings, only as long as reasonably necessary to understand and improve the Service.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this cookie policy when our use of cookies, the Service or legal requirements change. We publish the revised version here and update the date above. Where appropriate we may ask you to make a choice again.
