Manage Sentinel monitoring policies
Sentinel policies are a separate scheduled monitoring concern. A policy chooses an entity, explicit coverage mode, condition, schedule, and staged responses. Policies start inactive and are validated before activation.
Who can do this: Tenant administrator
Before you start
- Use an account with access to the stated page and permission for the chosen action.
Safeguards
- Sentinel monitors nothing by default.
- All-record coverage includes future records; use filtered or explicit coverage when that is too broad.
- Activation may immediately create findings for existing records.
- Sentinel policy data must never be stored as an event automation condition.
- Open Configuration → ITLedger Sentinel → Policies & automation.
- Choose the entity and all, filtered, or explicit coverage.
- Configure the monitored field, condition, schedule, and stages.
- Save a draft, review its plain-language summary, and activate deliberately.
Expected outcome: The user has reviewed the result of manage sentinel monitoring policies in the application.
