User group membership
User group membership.
Who can do this: Tenant administrator, Operator
Before you start
- Use an account with access to the stated page and permission for the chosen action.
Safeguards
- User groups are separate from teams and departments; they support operational governance roles, local custom groups, and external identity/access groups.
- System templates distinguish CAB, incident, change and problem management roles.
- Enabling a system group without adding members does not make the workflow ready.
- User group members have a role of owner or member, and CAB-related delegation is managed from the Profile page.
- Nested groups must not form cycles.
- Removing memberships preserves history where soft deletion is supported.
- Open Contacts → User Groups to manage operational user groups, or Contacts → Component Groups to manage component groups.
- For user groups, use the Groups tab to search, create custom groups, edit descriptions, delete custom groups, and open the member editor.
- Use the Templates tab to review CAB, incident manager, change manager, and problem manager system-group status, then enable missing templates where needed.
- In the user group editor, search users by name or email, add them as owner or member, adjust roles, and remove stale members.
- Review group membership after changes so workflow readiness, visualizations, and governance checks use current members.
Expected outcome: The user has reviewed the result of user group membership in the application.
Component group membership
Component group membership.
Who can do this: Tenant administrator, Operator
Before you start
- Use an account with access to the stated page and permission for the chosen action.
Safeguards
- A component group contains one configured resource type.
- Select that type before searching for members; without it membership changes can be blocked.
- Review the member selection before saving or removing links.
- Open Contacts → User Groups to manage operational user groups, or Contacts → Component Groups to manage component groups.
- For component groups, create a group with a name, description, and entity type, then use the edit dialog to add matching components by search.
- Review group membership after changes so workflow readiness, visualizations, and governance checks use current members.
Expected outcome: The user has reviewed the result of component group membership in the application.
Group sync visibility
Group sync visibility.
Who can do this: Tenant administrator, Operator
Before you start
- Use an account with access to the stated page and permission for the chosen action.
Safeguards
- User groups are separate from teams and departments; they support operational governance roles, local custom groups, and external identity/access groups.
- External identity groups must retain their source and external identity.
- Access to assets is represented through explicit access relationships; group presence alone does not grant unrelated permissions.
- Do not treat external group membership as a local team or department assignment.
- Open Contacts → User Groups to manage operational user groups, or Contacts → Component Groups to manage component groups.
- Open the group and review whether it is local, a system workflow group or synchronized from an external identity source.
- Review its recorded external identity and membership source before changing it.
- Use the owning identity system for managed membership and verify the next synchronized state.
Expected outcome: The user has reviewed the result of group sync visibility in the application.
Aanbevolen werkwijze
- Geef voorrang aan gegevens die dienstverlening, compliance en kosten beïnvloeden.
