Create custom role
Create a named role with deliberate permission bundles and individual read, write and delete permissions. It becomes available for invitations and role changes.
Who can do this: Tenant administrator
Before you start
- Use an account with access to the stated page and permission for the chosen action.
Safeguards
- System roles (Tenant Admin, Operator, Requester) are read-only and cannot be edited or deleted.
- Role changes take effect immediately — users assigned to a custom role gain or lose access the moment the role is modified.
- Permission bundles are coarse toggles. Individual resource permissions can override bundle defaults.
- Go to Configuration → User Management → Roles.
- Click "Create New Role".
- Enter a descriptive role name and optional description.
- Use Permission Bundle toggles to enable broad permission groups (e.g. ITSM View, Asset Management).
- Use the Resource Permission Grid to fine-tune read/write/delete access per entity type and admin/config surface.
- Save the role.
- The new role is immediately available when inviting users or changing roles.
